From Origination to Innovation

Fannie Mae engaged EY to help transform their organization into one that was more customer-centric and digitally savvy. As a Design Director at EY, I helped lead the design of key digital tools that demonstrated this new vision.

Challenge

As part of Fannie Mae’s broader digital transformation, the organization needed to:

  • Develop elegant solutions that anticipated customer needs
  • Transform their company culture to be more customer-centric
  • Create tools that demonstrated their commitment to digital innovation

Solution

Working within EY’s larger engagement, I helped lead the design of a Digital Mortgage Calculator that exemplified Fannie Mae’s new customer-centric approach. This vision prototype was part of EY’s comprehensive strategy that included developing in-house design capabilities and building a Pop-Up innovation studio.

The calculator design demonstrated how thoughtful UX could transform complex financial decisions into intuitive experiences while supporting broader organizational goals. Our card-based interface broke calculations into digestible steps, with an interactive sidebar showing real-time benefit calculations. We integrated educational content at key decision points and developed customized workflows for different institution types.
